Event Description

The Botanic Gardens Cranbourne is one of those “must-visit”destinations. Recognised as a site of State significance for plant and wildlifeconservation, it is home to over 25 endangered or rare and threatened species.

This field trip, organised by Geography Victoria, offers aunique opportunity to explore Cranbourne Gardens with a specially tailoredprogram.

  • 30-minute guided, open-air bus ride, providing a fascinating overview of the gardens and their themed display areas.
  • 90-minute guided walking tour of the Australian Garden which will showcase the beauty and diversity of Australian landscapes and flora, featuring over one million plants across 1,900 varieties. The tour will also highlight how climate change is affecting plants and wildlife, as well as the citizen science initiatives helping to shape Australia’s response to these environmental challenges.
  • Cranbourne Gardens’ Learning Facilitator, Emma Melder will discuss the garden’s special educational programs and initiatives.
