Event Description

What can our waterways tell us about the future of our city?

Join Geography Victoria on a fascinating field trip through Melbourne’s urban waterways, travelling by bus to five sites along Merri Creek, Moonee Ponds Creek and the Maribyrnong River.

From the devastating 2022 Victorian floods to the challenges of pollution, urban development and climate change, discover how the way we design and manage our city shapes the health and resilience of its waterways.

This tour will be led by Adriana Abels (John Monash Science School), Dr James Driscoll (Monash University) and Professor Ian Rutherfurd (The University of Melbourne).

Come and explore the changing story of Melbourne’s waterways—and discover what their future might look like.

Cost: $25.00
