Hosted in the stunning Cudmore Library of The Royal Society of Victoria, this interactive science communication workshop is designed for early career STEM professionals.
National Science Week is all about sparking public interest and engagement with science and technology. So what better way to make a meaningful impact then learning how to translate our complex science into stories that connect, spark curiosity and stick with your audience.
You'll learn the secrets of great science communicators, explore real-world examples, and practise turning jargon into juicy, audience-friendly messaging. Whether you're dreaming of a career in research, policy, media, or outreach - this session will help you share your science with confidence, clarity, and impact.
In the blue corner is your host for the evening, Emma Donnelly, founder and owner of Comm-it.
- Emma is a multi-award-winning science communicator, educator, and facilitator with over 25 years’ experience helping researchers, educators, and organisations share their science. Emma designs and delivers dynamic training programs in science communication, leadership, and engagement, by blending evidence-based strategies with a deep understanding of how people learn and connect.
- Psst...for those studying or interested in a postgraduate degree, Emma was a National Trainer for FameLab, an epic global science communication competition. She's even worked with Prime Minister Science Award winners.
