Event Description

A visit to the State Control Centre (SCC) - Victoria’s main hub for managing major emergencies such as bushfires, floods, and storms. Operated by Emergency Management Victoria (EMV), the SCC coordinates the response efforts of emergency services across the state.

This field trip provides an opportunity to learn how the SCC responds to emergency situations.

Frazer Wilson (Team Leader of Predictive Services at Forest, Fire Management Victoria) will be on hand to provide an overview of their services including the processes which occur during a bushfire event, from the initial ignition report to predicting the fire's spread and warning communities.

This event is organised by Geography Victoria, an affiliate of RSV
