Flying drones to track coastal erosion, building model solar vehicles, using DNA fingerprinting to detect secretive animals – science comes alive when you experience it with others in activities that are relevant and approachable. In this Community Engagement edition we show how science and technology can open the way to knowledge and solutions for the whole community.

We have a need of Indigenous knowledge to heal our nation in many ways – to help counter the impact of climate change; to rescue our environment, both vegetation and wildlife; and to learn to live sustainably on our continent.
